Your Neighbors Will Love You!
I promise! In 30 days or less, or your money back guarantee! Just kidding this recipe is totally free. 😉
Okay but seriously this recipe is amazing and so gosh darn quick and easy to make!! Not to mention. SUPER MOIST (yes, I said the forbidden word), 😅and so stinkin’ good!! The people I have made it for, are still talking about it! I make this super-easy banana bread recipe ALL THE TIME when I want to say ‘thank you’ to a neighbor or a friend in a super sweet way!
Plus, when you add the glaze and get a little boujee with the edible roses, it really adds an extra special touch to the gifting moment!
Let’s Talk About: B-A-N-A-N-A-S!
If you didn’t sing that like Gwen Stefani, are we even friends? 😆 Okay but for real let’s talk about the bananas!! How ripe should they be? How Ripe, is too ripe? Can we use plantains?
Well, I’m glad you asked. 🤓 When your banana over-ripens, the sugars develop and enhances the banana flavor. When you use a ripe banana like you’d want to eat straight-up for breakfast, you don’t have that concentrated Banana-esque-ness. You like that made-up (but definitely relevant) word use there? The best bananas for banana bread are the ones that are browning on the outside, and starting to look slightly translucent when you peel it.
And please, NO PLANTAINS. When it comes to banana bread, size does matter. 😁🍌
Let’s Get to the Fun Part!
Make The Batter
In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar.Add in mashed bananas, eggs, and vanilla extract mixing until blended.
Add in Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together dry ingredients and then add to wet batter.
Add in Extras
Fold in walnuts and chocolate chips.
Pan & Bake!
Almost there! Pour into loaf pan and bake at 350º for 55-6- min or until toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Make the Glaze
Once banana bread has completely cooled, add powdered sugar, heavy cream and vanilla to small mixing bowl and whisk together. Pour over top of banana bread loaf immediately and quickly sprinkle edible dried roses on top before
Tip: The glaze will crust over on top (kind of like donut glaze) so you’ll want to wait until the banana bread has completely cooled before you make the glaze, and then you’ll want to add any garnishes or sprinkles right away before it sets!
I love using these edible dried roses to decorate many baked goods! It’s a quick and easy way to add a beautiful and feminine touch!

Instructions
Make the Banana Bread
- Preheat oven to 350ºF. Spray loaf pan with cake release spray or grease and flour.
- Mash bananas with a fork or you can use hand-mixer like I did for faster results.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar.
- Add in mashed bananas, eggs, and vanilla extract mixing until blended.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together dry ingredients and then add to wet batter.
- Fold in walnuts and chocolate chips. Pour into loaf pan and bake at 350º for 55-6- min or until toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Make the glaze
- Once banana bread has completely cooled, add powdered sugar, heavy cream and vanilla to small mixing bowl and whisk together. Pour over top of banana bread loaf immediately and quickly sprinkle edible dried roses on top before glaze sets.
Notes
- Feel free to omit the nuts or chocolate chips if desired. This recipe tastes just as amazing without any of the extras!
- The glaze will crust over on top (kind of like donut glaze) so you’ll want to wait until the banana bread has completely cooled before you make the glaze, and then you’ll want to add any garnishes or sprinkles right away before it sets!
