Moist Chocolate Chip Banana Nut Bread
This super-moist chocolate chip banana nut bread is so quick and easy to make and makes a great gifts for neighbors!
FOR THE BANANA BREAD
- Medium Bowl
- 3 very ripe bananas medium/large
- Medium Bowl
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter room temperature
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar I used Stevia
- Small Bowl
- 2 large eggs lightly beaten
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Dry Ingredients: Large Bowl
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 216g
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Separate small bowl
- 1 cup walnuts
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
FOR THE GLAZE
- 1 1/2 cup powder sugar
- 2 1/2 tbsp heavy cream
- 1/2 tbsp clear vanilla extract
Make the Banana Bread
Preheat oven to 350ºF. Spray loaf pan with cake release spray or grease and flour.
Mash bananas with a fork or you can use hand-mixer like I did for faster results.
In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar.
Add in mashed bananas, eggs, and vanilla extract mixing until blended.
In a separate bowl, whisk together dry ingredients and then add to wet batter.
Fold in walnuts and chocolate chips. Pour into loaf pan and bake at 350º for 55-6- min or until toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Make the glaze
Once banana bread has completely cooled, add powdered sugar, heavy cream and vanilla to small mixing bowl and whisk together. Pour over top of banana bread loaf immediately and quickly sprinkle edible dried roses on top before glaze sets.
- Feel free to omit the nuts or chocolate chips if desired. This recipe tastes just as amazing without any of the extras!
- The glaze will crust over on top (kind of like donut glaze) so you'll want to wait until the banana bread has completely cooled before you make the glaze, and then you'll want to add any garnishes or sprinkles right away before it sets!
